Twenty Twenty Four

It will be a better year than 2023; we better get the right mindset from now on. I like this fresh feeling every new year brings. You probably got your goals down, inquired about a gym membership, paid for that course, or already cut people off. The list is endless, and pruning or restrategizing is the way to go, but I’m about to burst your bubble.

You are going about it the wrong way. I know how important environment is in new beginnings; old ways might not work, but physical change only works if your mind has. It’s like someone who wants a flat stomach and only puts on body shape wears. You are trying to fix your outward appearance but still eating junk, there is no flat stomach for you anywhere.

If you don’t fix yourself or whatever your problem is, you’re only deceiving yourself. It doesn’t matter how much you plan for each day in 2024, don’t be surprised; you’ll somehow return to everything you’re running away from by February. Changes start from inside; first, you must accept them as the best option and slowly learn the new ways.

If other people were the problem and you cut them off, how do you still end up with the same type by the end of the year? If writing goals were the way to go, do you still remember where you wrote the 2023 ones? I hope you see a pattern. It’s okay to get fired up for the new start; you need the energy the new year brings if you want change.

Channel it first in the right direction, and you will be surprised at how everything else falls into place. If you keep making the same mistakes, instead of running away from triggers, fix why they are triggers in the first place. You only attract what you believe; sometimes, you might be unaware of your beliefs if you can’t find the pattern.

I read The Alchemist recently, and the story follows how we keep chasing treasures like they are outside of us. You have everything you need within you, and if you’re not attentive enough, you will keep chasing what’s in your pocket. It is not the outward choices you make that effect change; instead, it is your inward conviction that there is a better way to live.

It’s not just a new year; every day is a new chance to get it right. You might be organizing how you want 2024 to be and have not put time aside for yourself. Planning only works if the person who acts on the plans is equipped for the journey.

There is no cap for change; once you fix something, you unlock another level. There is also no fast-tracking change; you need time to unlearn the old and learn the new. Change is not magic; it’s a process.

You will get it right this year, but doing so starts at the right place. It might get tricky, and some days will feel like hell, but the way upward is never easy. Pay close attention to your patterns if you want to be intentional about your progress. That is where your goals should originate, not what everyone else does or feels is right.

I wish you the best year you have ever had. Love always.
