Mortal combat!

Do you ever wonder why stuff happens to you, or do you just take it as part of life and pull through? Do you live with expectation or anticipation? Or wonder where the next problem will come from? You might have concluded that you are only here to fight battles, which is partly true, but if that were 100% the case, what is this fragility of human life for? If what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, why die when you can keep getting stronger?

I have always been curious, and I used to get teased for talking or asking too much. To cope with that, I learned observance to decipher answers myself. The key to accurate observation is why? Why is the sky blue? Why does he only smile with his lips and not his eyes? Why did that go wrong? Replacing what or how with why gives you a more profound context; while the former tackles the problem, the latter figures out the reason for the problem.

Life has a way of repeating problems in different dimensions until you learn your lesson. You might have been fighting the same battle since puberty, and you would not know because it takes various forms. But it’s basically the same struggle over and over; if you don’t understand why you find it hard to forgive, you will keep getting hurt and betrayed until you do and heal from it.

As I said, our fragility mocks our tenacity. Yes, your will is strong, and you can set your mind to do anything, even going to the gym to get physically stronger. But why do you cry yourself to sleep when you are reminded of the past? Why does stubbing your toe hurt so much? Why does your heart break each time you hear that song? Why do you pretend not to be broken?

So you have two choices: keep pulling through or find out why. None is easy, but one produces an enlightened version of you. You are not just here to fight battles and ascend to new levels; aren’t you tired? Why are you even fighting in the first place? Don’t you like peace and rest instead of violence and drama? Remember when we talked about mixing colors last week? How about getting the right vibe about your struggles today?

Ask yourself, Why do I like the people or things I like? Why do I hate those I do? Why am I this way? Or have I always hated this? You don’t even know why you stopped eating something, but you trust everything your head says. Do you not notice the flaw? You have accepted that you may never get it right in relationships instead of figuring out why you suck at it in the first place. No one genuinely wants trouble in life; we all work and aim towards an easy life, even those keen on violence and drama; it’s their version of achieving this smooth sail.

But the reason behind it is you; no one hates you or is out to get you. You are just comfortable with life happening to you instead of being in charge. Not anymore; it’s your life, your choices, and your problems. If you can figure out a reason for your troubles, then you can have the lead role, but this is hard, and I understand why you would not want to, but it’s harder living this exhausting life.

You have remained unimpressed by people since the first time you were hurt because you have not forgiven yourself for being a fool. So you don’t hate people; you hate yourself but cannot admit it. It doesn’t have to be that way, and your trauma does not determine your struggles. I find it hard to take corrections or advice, but I figured out why and started publishing my journal. It’s the only way I listen to myself and what I have heard.

Yes, you must fight, but do it for the right reasons. There is no medal for who wins the most battles in life, but there is peace and rest for those who can choose the ones they fight.
