Cost of living

Why is it so easy to forget what you used to want and pray for when you have it? Why are you always dissatisfied? You do an excellent job with contentment, but as soon as you get this, you want that. It’s like a rat race, with the same cycle of wanting over and over again. It scares me that death is the only way to get out of it.

There will always be something you lack and continually work to get. That is basically how you were designed. On this same schedule of survival, you are supposed to enjoy your lifespan and leave a legacy. According to the hierarchy of needs, once you no longer worry about physical needs, you move on to psychological ones.

If you think having something to eat, wear, and somewhere to sleep is already challenging, think about how to heal from trauma or create a reality from your dreams. In most cases, people never get past their basic needs. From working only to feed, clothe, and house yourself to doing the same for your children, by the time you are ready to dive into something deeper, you no longer have the energy to go on.

It’s not that they don’t want to, but life never stops demanding. They keep giving while neglecting their source until, one day, there’s nothing else to offer. I don’t want you to end up like that. Yes, being self-sufficient and comfortable is a beautiful and simple life. But that’s all there is to it.

If everyone thought that the ideal way to move was with legs and animals or that communication was impossible without pigeons, I don’t believe this reality would be possible. Or if happiness was the only state of emotion, why bother naming others?

Just surviving isn’t the only way to live. I know how hard that is already, but you think life beyond surviving must be something grand or flashy and world-changing. It could be, but it doesn’t have to be. It’s the little hobby you don’t mind not getting paid for or the things you do just because. The gradual steps you take to improve yourself just so you can experience life better.

It’s easier to only work for food, clothes, and shelter rather than delve into the deeper meaning of why you are still here and not dead. That is why you quickly forget how badly you wanted a need once you have it because your inner self is never satisfied and keeps wanting without fulfillment.

Life is more, you know it, and merely improving your standard of living doesn’t make you any more fulfilled. Put some consideration into actually living your most authentic self; you are not here to only pay for the cost of living.

I wish you a week full of genuine laughter. Here’s a fun song by Blanco – The Git Up – 🥰🥰
