The Pro

Have you ever wondered why having professional experience is essential to hiring managers? Save a few, but most companies prefer a pro to a novice. Though it doesn’t usually go that way because they have to pay a pro more, they settle for less. Not that you are less, but in this case, you have less value than an experienced person.

There’s no big deal in that; with time, you’ll gain experience and become highly sought-after. But we miss an important lesson from this: you and I apply different standards to our lives. Wait, hear me out; I’m going somewhere.

How much thought do you put into the people you let into your life? It did not happen by chance; if you think that way, you opened the doors yourself. Everyone is at different stages in life, some at a novice level, some intermediate, some advanced, or maybe a pro. Age has nothing to do with this; a 20-year-old might have gone through more challenging things than a 50-year-old has. Time and chance happen to us all.

Companies prefer a pro over a novice because they want to avoid mistakes. It’s simple: doing something for the first time will mean errors until you get it right. In this case, these mistakes can be costly, and that chance is significantly reduced with an experienced person. A mistake may mean a novel situation.

Back to the door of your life: you need a little bit of everyone on this journey. How do you intend to grow if all your guys are on the same level as you? Or have you seen a company where everyone is an intern? Even start-ups have different types of people as founding partners. But all your friends speak the same language as you and live within a 50-meter radius.

That’s just a primary classification; how about you, who only knows people with the same thought process as you? Cutting off anyone who deviates even slightly from your point of view. Who do you learn from, then? Or aspire to be like one day. By now, you should understand how valuable the gift of people is, but more importantly, having the right people.

You must be part of every level because success is a long journey. You need to know how and when to move next. If all your friends are pros, you’ll need help with understanding, patience, and dedication. Whereas if you only roll with interns, the goal might need to be more precise.

Some people are only contract staff; you do not have the resources to keep them for more than a specified time. It’s a continuous process; the more you grow, the more the quality of people in your life needs to change. This does not mean you should discard your day-ones; growing together is beautiful, but those are not the only people you need.

So, yes, professional experience matters. It saves you from repeating mistakes. It might be expensive, but there are many things you do not have to worry about. You do not know everything yet or have everything you need for life, and you never will.

I hope you have a fabulous week🥰
