Hypocrite- : a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings

I will not tell you how many articles I have written that emphasize on not giving excuses or pushing past them to be better. Why? because I’ll be setting fire to the stake I’m currently tied to.

These few weeks, I have acted in stark contradiction to my beliefs and values. I have glorified my excuses and reduced my life to mundanity.

It’s not because I suddenly stopped loving writing or don’t know how to anymore, but rather I haven’t gotten to a stage in my life where I can do what I want, when I want and how I want to.

There’s so much to do and so little time. You need to sleep, eat, exercise, make money, stay updated on what’s going on in the world, have a social life, serve God, spend time with family, do what you love, grow, love, look good and have fun while at it. Add yours too.

These things are not a lot when you call the shots or when money works for you, but if you have to juggle what gives you fulfillment and making money; then you might need reminders sometimes.

You and I are not just here to survive and die, which I honestly think is a much simpler way out of all this stress. Although, if that were the case, then a Bugatti Centodieci will simply not exist because transportation will not require such exoticness and finesse (and that is just one example)

Life has a lot in store for you and you can only experience it if you don’t just exist. It’s so much work and stress though, I understand and I can relate. But maybe all you need is at least one person who believes in you, sets expectations for you and holds you accountable.

If you have coconut head like me, you might need more than just one person. Sometimes you need to be reminded of your value, how amazing you have been or can be. It took a couple of conversations to remind me why I started sharing my writing with you in the first place, but I’m here now.

And yes, I have been a hypocrite, but here’s a reminder to you and I; there will always be excuses and reasons not to be who you want to be. So also will there be someone who believes in you and what you offer; It’s a flex you can ride on when it gets hard to juggle the complexities of life.

Identify that person or those people so that when life gets too much they can nudge you back on track.
