You Are Enough

Hi! 🥰 Welcome back to Grace’s blog, thank you for being consistent and always letting me have a part of your time. To my new readers, it’s such an honour to be graced with your attention and the presence of your mind, I hope this will not be the last time.

Enough is a word from Old English that can be classified under three different parts of speech. Depending on the context in which you use it, it could be a noun, an adverb or an adjective. It means nearly the same thing in all forms – an adequate quantity, as much as necessary or sufficient to achieve a purpose.

I want you to take a moment and read the definitions again because for some of us, there’s nothing that we would ever achieve nor who we will ever be that will seem enough. It sounds like an unaffordable luxury to be content with who we are.

Take it

Spoiler – No one and nothing will ever be enough if you do not already accept that you are.

I am not referring to material things or necessities you need to get by in life. I am referring to you, are you okay with the way you think, walk, your body, your smile, your personality or every other thing that is unique to your person.

We have all come to understand that we are not just physically different and unique but so are our minds. This post is not to encourage your bad habits, change them please. No one has time to put up with it anymore, and we have bigger problems like a pandemic now.

I am not against personal evaluation and growth, lack of that is suicidal. I’m telling you all those versions will make no sense without prior contentment. For as long as you are breathing there will always be room for change and improvement and we go on that path till the day we die, so if we keep running without awareness and contentment of self, to what end then?

Before all the occurrences that shaped us happened, you had a fundamental personality, like being kind, if that’s who you are and you stay true to you, it doesn’t change. But at that basic level, were you enough for you? Do you think you are just the right amount of you you need to be?

So, bad habits don’t make me a bad person as long as I acknowledge them and keep working towards eradicating them. But I’m okay and still love me, I am enough.

You are an original, like a limited edition figurine, there isn’t and will never be a you. If you are unable to fall in love with your true self- no pretense, nor who the world wants you to be. No, your initial operating system, other updates or upgrades to be better will simply never be enough or just right.

It will always be a cycle that goes on and on. So words like confidence, contentment, self acceptance, peace, true joy will never make sense.

All the things you like or don’t like about you is what defines you, stop fighting it, accept that and work through it, that’s how you build yourself up.

Our song pick for this week is a chill vibe (try listening with headsets on) that reminds us of our fundamentality🥰

I always think you’re speaking to me when you post new updates.

The topic reminds me of a friend that always makes me repeat the phrase “I’m more than enough”
Most of the time when I’m at the rock bottom of my rough life I remember the phrase. I scream it out loud when i get the chance to.
I used to do things that I was not proud of and i thought i could never get rid of them because i thought i was created to be part of them, last year i thought I’m SUPER ENOUGH to turn myself a brand new me. Eventually, I’m a changed person.
