Hey! Welcome back to Grace’s blog 😊 thank you for being consistent and always letting me have a part of your time. To my new readers, it’s such an honor to be graced with your attention and the presence of your mind, I hope this will not be the last time.
If most of the world’s population had a mind that worked exactly as yours did, the world would be a better place, would it not? Of course, we are all great in our own unique way, a little more of us definitely won’t hurt.
Majority of us think this way, and yet some of us have always looked past ourselves, treating our mind and body as second and going through the course of life without full attention to who we are and what we are capable of.

Humans are social animals, which means relationships are one of the most important things that define our existence, you will not be surprised that most personality issues people face are a result of failed relationships.
Friendships, Romantic relationships, family relationships, Spiritual relationships take up so much of our time that we relegate the ultimate deciding factor, our relationship with self.
The quality of relationship you have with yourself determines how well all the others work, our mind and body works like garbage in, garbage out. How do you say kind words to other people when you constantly criticize yourself negatively?
It is common for us to look past ourselves, after all I see my reflection everyday, I’m aware of my mind almost at every turn. You continue to be mindful of it until you no longer do, because it’s always there.
Today, I want you to change that, a lot of things are important but so are you, your body and your mind, stop putting yourself in second place. You also need the love, care and attention.
I am not telling you to be a narcissist, I’m saying treat yourself with some respect at least, when you are in love with someone or something, you treat it with so much fragility, showering love and every other expression of it that fits your person, but why is it so hard to treat yourself the same?
Here are a few tips to help you improve your relationship with self
1. Take your health seriously – I can not overemphasize how important this is, all the plans and dreams you are working for right now, might not work if you don’t have a body to use for it. Not just physically, emotionally and mentally also, you need to be more intentional. Don’t harm yourself for a fleeting feeling, it’s not worth it, it just accumulates and comes back to haunt you.
2. Make time for yourself – some of us don’t even know who we are when no one is around, our identities are strongly tied to other people. You should learn how to communicate with yourself, just as you would other people. A little time invested in yourself will not go unrewarded. Self awareness improves your confidence and self esteem. A rude comment about your features would mean nothing to you if you already knew it and were confident about it.
3. Don’t live a competitive life – You’ll never be at peace this way, the world would always go on regardless of what you do and your achievements. Your life does not have to go exactly as someone else did, if our lives do not unfold a certain way or if we do not acquire a certain thing, then we would not be happy. It’s just really stressful and robs you of your joy.
Your body and your mind will always be with you, life would be better if your space is your favorite place.
