TRYING

“Try Jesus don’t try me, cos I throw hands”  is a line from a song by Tobe Nwigwe that has been recurring in my head of late but i am not talking about that “trying” in this context. Trying here, is the endeavour and effort to do or accomplish something.

Whether in our career or relationship, I’m sure there would have been a particular time in our lives where we must have experienced failure and the only thing that we eventually did was to try again while some actually did not and lost hope.

Sometimes we fail to try or fail to challenge ourselves to be better because we fear that we may fail in the process forgetting  that fear prohibits us from putting any sort of effort in the first place. But it’s okayyyy my dearest 😉 no  one is holding you responsible for that and I am not trying to play the victim here either because at the end of it all “we all try our best”.

We hear and often say phrases like “but i tried my best”, “i have been trying for long” , “i will try and sort it out” and so on like that but personally for me, when i hear these phrases, it brings me to a set of thoughts like;

Yes this person realized they failed the last time and are willing to put more effort to try again.

Did all they could and it did not work out for them but they are still willing to take the jump.

Assurance and confidence that when they try again it will make the difference.

Lost all hope after several trials.

Regardless of what the assumption or conclusion might be here, the main point I am driving at is, fear of failure or even failure itself should not hold us back but make us persevere with a better chance of becoming successful next time. We are not perfect, but we can always try to improve ourselves in every aspect of our lives with the right mindset.

I know most of us are scared of trying due to certain risks or previous experiences and it’s okay but let me put it to you that trying not only helps us to vanquish those fears, but it also allows us to expand our minds to learn more about that thing and about ourselves. This can be achieved by reading books for example or listening to experts/life coaches that’ll guide us better for challenges we may encounter along the line.

It could be starting a business, career, relationship, marriage or whatever the choice might be here, we must be willing to push ourselves out of our comfort zones and gather information that will help guide us through the path we choose to follow.

I am a strong believer that anything you want to do in this life has already been  tried or even achieved  by someone else but we suffer from anxiety which could be squashed if we just at the very least try to do that particular thing we have always dreamed of.

Trying to achieve something despite certain challenges is a very big step in having a fulfilled life because trying gives us a clear idea of our strengths and weaknesses and how to tackle them effectively. If you don’t try something there’s no way you can know if you’d succeed or not so why not just keep on trying 🤔.

Watch out for part two😎 and see you next week☺️
