Time lies

Most of our regrets come from two things: waiting for the perfect time and believing we have time.

Sometimes, patience is non-negotiable. You have done your part, controlled what you can, and now you let time do its thing. That is valid. But be honest with yourself. Are you being patient, or are you just wasting time?

The inevitability of death should give us a sense of urgency almost like being pressed in public. The goal is a restroom, and suddenly everything else fades. Your senses, your decisions, your movement, everything is focused on relief. That is the kind of urgency life requires. Because the truth is, we do not have time.

We only think we do because time feels constant. It is measurable, predictable, always showing up. But we have mistaken access for control and built a false sense of security around it. We tell ourselves there is always a next time. Tomorrow. Next week. Later. And so the cycle continues.

Yes, to some extent, the time between birth and death is within our control. But accidents and unforeseen circumstances remind us how fragile that control really is. That is exactly why how we use our time matters so much.

Time repeats itself so often that it starts to feel abundant. But that is the illusion. There is no abundance, and there is no perfect time. You act at a specific moment and make it the right one. People say, give yourself time, but you do not own time, so you cannot give it as a gift.

This is not about making you anxious or overwhelmed. It is about reframing pressure. Pressure is not the villain we have made it out to be. In trying to protect ourselves from discomfort or wrong decisions, we have leaned into coddling and excuses, calling it self care.

But let’s be honest. That is not always growth.

My friend, the pressure cooker is on, and it is hot.

The time to be intentional is now. There is no postponing happiness until everything aligns. There is no once this is over, then I will start, because once this ends, something else begins. It is a loop that keeps running until our final breath.

Yes, survive. Rest when you need to. Pause when it is necessary. But do not forget, you have a goal. There was a standard you once set for yourself, and life has been quietly chipping away at it, lowering it bit by bit.

Not anymore.

The time is now. It is urgent that you start creating the life you want, right now. You do not need perfect conditions. You need a decided mind.
