It’s relatively easy to project what you are not. All you have to do is tell people about it. Because others cannot see the contents of your heart, they believe what you say and do. So if you say you are someone who is adept to change and growth, always talking or posting about it. It might seem true. After all, your measure of progress is usually yours, so who is to stand against you?
Well, I’m in your business today. It’s not all talk, it’s actual work. Everyone likes the comfort familiarity brings, and that’s where the problem is. You are not everyone, and neither do you want to be referred to as a mere statistic. To do that, you must grow, you must change, mundanity must never satisfy you.
Change is tough, and growth is really hard. Your first instinct, when faced with a new situation, is to run, resist, or go back to your safe zone. But you’ve set new goals, you need to be the person who can achieve them. It’s like expecting a four-burner gas cooker to cook five meals simultaneously because you have an extra pot. You might have to get a new gas cooker, and that’s what growth is.
It’s expensive, costing much more than usual, that’s why you keep running back to the familiar. It takes so much more than just saying it. Growth is a mean thing. It’s scary and always puts you on edge. It’s not all fun like we make it seem.
But true power lies in facing these challenges head-on, not cowering at the slightest difficulty. The best moments of your life will not happen when you are facing the ordinary. They occur in the tightest of spots and most demanding of situations.

Today, I’m telling you not to be all talk but actually grow. Not just write your goals, but become the person who matches those goals. For you to add more water to a filled glass, you’ll have to pour some out first. You cannot keep functioning with the same glass of water, you need a fresh one. I do not think life will ever stop offering you water. It’s your choice to decide if you’re full or can make room for more.
