It’s you all the way

I have spent weeks trying to come up with something for you, and to be honest, I have only made about twenty percent progress. Not because I don’t have what to tell you. I’m just worried it might not resonate with you.

As much as I want you to read, I also want you to learn and feel, but all the drafts I have come up with don’t seem to do enough justice.

Today, I went against whatever is holding me back and write this so that you know you can make beauty out of chaos and the only thing it takes is that you decide.

For anything you do, especially the things that you enjoy doing, there’s a process. You might not think much of it or even realize but you create or do better under certain circumstances than you do others.

This doesn’t mean that you’re not good at what you do, it’s because these things influence your creativity process and the sooner you realize, the easier it is to fall in sync with your process.

Here’s what I mean. Usually I write from my experience, when something unusual happens in my life, I’ll always ask these questions.

Why did this happen?

What could I have done?

What does this mean or what can I learn from it?

Analyzing these thoughts begins the process, and the end point is what you get to read. But lately, I have fallen into a routine, the same cycle week after week that it’s become boring except for the occasional Lagos drama.

This is where there’s conflict. Boring is peaceful, but it doesn’t aid my creative process. Something might be good but not great for you, and settling for just the good is depriving yourself and the world of the awesomeness that lies within.

Whatever you do, there are no limits except those you create yourself because it’s you calling the shots all the way.

So, I have nothing to report because nothing of note happened, but I have convinced myself that it’s something worth reporting. Because I create from chaos, no chaos means chaos.

Contrary to what you might think, familiarity with your process does not mean limits, rather it gives you freedom to tweak events to work for you rather than against you.

So, don’t go through this week giving excuses because of limits you’ve set for yourself. You’re good right now, but there’s also great where that came from. Just push and tweak things a bit and you’ll see.
