Always here…

I want to be that person who puts a smile on your face when you think of me, because that is what fulfillment means to me.

For you, absence might only mean death, but I have a few questions; How often do you think of death? When it happens in proximity? A hero of yours dies? Or occasionally?

I asked google how often should you think about death? It said “from time to time but constantly thinking about death means you should see a therapist”

Death is scary. It’s the first word that comes to mind when the word flashes through. Aside from probably needing a therapist , I’ll assume google does not give specifics because time and death have a complicated relationship.

Back to being the person who you never forget. I need to emphasize that I mean not only when death happens. I understand it’s dark to talk about death, but it’s also a real factor to consider when reflecting on the quality of your life.

Here’s my theory – there are so many things I want to achieve in life, mostly for myself and family. They’re all going to come from me and I can take pride in that.

But I’m not here alone. There are billions of us. When I go on and achieve everything I wanted to do, what difference does it make to people who are far from me? How do I impact on someone without meeting them or knowing their name?

Do I want to be remembered as the girl who achieved all her dreams or the girl whose absence someone will always feel?

These questions are a lot to ponder on and to be honest, I don’t know if the answers I chose are the right ones.

Let’s begin from this point,in the grand scheme of things, what you do as an individual contributes one way or the other to the quality of the universe. That little smile you gave to a stranger, the thank you after a transaction or the long bear hugs for your friends and family, all affect the quality of your life and theirs.

Even if you don’t see or sense it now, when people think or talk about you and their first instinct is to smile or wish you shared that moment with them, you, my dear, are free from the shackles of death.

If you have seen the movie “Coco”, you might understand what I’m saying better. If you haven’t, please do.

Life is suffering, that is a fact, but nobody genuinely wants to die. What we really want is to pull through whatever it throws at us, and still stand strong.

If you can do that, and still give happy memories; not only was living worth it, but even in death, you live on.

So, why don’t you be the person who makes people smile when you cross their mind? You’re on a journey, a tough one indeed, but on this journey I want you to know fulfillment and to leave with no regrets. I also want you to say contented goodbyes and know that you’ll always remain here in good faith.

I want you to be the person who people miss, not only in death but while you’re still here, too.

Have a wonderful week and enjoy this song from by Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak & Silk Sonic – Fly as me.
